The CyanogenMod team have announced that the 10.1.3 build is at release candidate 1. This will be the last CM build that is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
CyanogenMod is considered to be the most well-known custom ROM, mainly due to its availability on a whole range of devices. It features a UI that is close to the native Android UI, and features a host of additional features. The 10.1.3 version of CyanogenMod is now available for download, and considering that it is a release candidate, it should be free from any bugs. This will be the last stable CM build that uses the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean code-base, as the CM team have mentioned that they will be focusing on CM 10.2 from now on, which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
New features in the 10.1.3 build include Privacy Guard, which lets users select privacy settings for individual apps from a central location. Another is the SELinux security framework, a new feature in Android 4.3 that the CM team have ported to the 10.1.3 build. These features were only available in the nightly builds before. Removed is the Voice+ integration, which allowed users to send and receive SMSes via Google Voice using any SMS client. Users who are running a nightly build of CM 10.2 on their devices should do a factory reset before installing the CM 10.1.3 RC1.
The CM team have also added devices like the HTC One, the Galaxy S 4, and the Galaxy Note 2 to the list of devices that will get this stable build. Find the entire list of devices getting the CM 10.1.3 RC1 build here.
