Google selling the Nexus 4 for $199

Google announced via a tweet that the Nexus 4 will be available at a heavily discounted price of $199 in seven countries.

A tweet by the Google Play account announced that the Nexus 4 will be discounted by a $100. The Nexus 4 8 GB variant will now retail for $199, while the 16 GB version will cost $249, which is a great deal considering most high-end devices cost that much on-contract. The Nexus 4 will be available for the discounted price in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, Korea and the United Kingdom. Google also mentioned that users who bought a Nexus 4 in the last 15 days will be eligible for the discount, and that it will refund the difference.

Google released the Nexus 4 last November, and since then it had a hard time ensuring that the device was in stock. When it was originally launched, it was retailing for $350 for the 16 GB model and $299 for the 8 GB variant, which was around half of what last year’s high-end devices like the Galaxy S3 and HTC One X cost. Head over to the Play Store from here*to get the device before it sells out.
