New HTC One Max details, photos emerge, is there anything left uncovered?

The HTC One Max starred in a ton of unconfirmed reports, leaks and so on back in July and early August, but about ten days ago it oddly dropped off our radar. Fret not though, as the long lost brother of the highly acclaimed HTC One is now back with a vengeance.

Not back as in officially confirmed, unveiled and ready to go on sale, but back to basically fill in all the blanks ahead of its likely formal intro during IFA. First up, we have a new recap of One Max’s specs, including something old, something new, something borrowed but nothing blue (though the One is allegedly landing in that shade soon, so why not this fellow too?).

Anyhow, let’s mention the only novelty present in the new list of features is the running of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.5 on top. The borrowed parts are HTC One’s UltraPixel rear snapper and 2.1 MP front cam, whereas the 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, 5.9-inch Full HD screen and 2 GB of RAM can be filed under old news already.

The alleged microSD support could also be considered new (and mind-blowing), yet there’s but a minor chance the “international” One Max will allow the expansion of its on-board storage (which, by the way, should rake in at 32 GB).

That’s in part confirmed by a new batch of photos unearthed by ePrice, which showcase a China-made One Max with removable battery cover, microSD and dual SIM slots. The pics put the 5.9-incher next to its little brother again, albeit the photographer was careful enough to blur the potentially compromising parts. Namely, the parts that could have revealed software tweaks brought to the table by the newest version of HTC’s Sense UI.

Other than that and the previously exposed fingerprint scanner, there’s nothing spectacular to be noticed about One Max’s design, with the phablet essentially looking like a jumbo One doppelganger. Enough to pique your interest? Let us know down below.
