Apple TV update brings content from Disney Junior and Major League Soccer

Today an over-the-air update has started rolling out for the Apple TV. It brings content from Major League Soccer and Disney Junior to Apple’s set-top-box.

Just last week the Apple TV software update 6.0 was released. It was a major update which brought a number of new features such as iTunes Radio and AirPlay from iCloud. Apple often rolls out content based updates which don’t bring any new features, but bring additional content for the users to enjoy. This time around, content from Major League Soccer and Disney Junior has been added.

Through Major League Soccer on the Apple TV, users will be able to view free on-demand video highlights, seek fantasy soccer advice, view player profiles and game analysis as well as watch full episodes of MLS 36 and the MLS Insider. Videos created by individual clubs and latest league standings can also be accessed. Those who have a Major League Soccer Live subscription, which costs $14.99 per month, will be able to access the live streaming and archived versions of regular season games, local and national blackout rules will apply nonetheless.

Disney Junior is yet another channel to arrive on the Apple TV from Disney, it already offers Disney Channel and Disney XD on Apple’s set-top box. Content will primarily be geared towards children.
