An HTC phone became the savior for a man in Florida when a robber decided to pull the trigger when he was forced to walk away empty-handed.
Before fleeing the scene of the crime, the robber of Florida gas station shot a clerk because he couldn’t open a safe.* Luckily the thing that stood between the man’s bare chest and the bullet was his HTC EVO 3D handset.* In what could have been a fatal incident ended up being something that could only be marked as a miracle.
The clerk was taken to the hospital for chest pain, but was eventually cleared and released.
“I’ve seen individuals get shot with low-caliber handguns and I’ve seen it be life ending.* So, for this gentleman to be as lucky as he is, it’s a good day for us,” said Officer Scott Allen.
Tales such as these are usually what we would see in Hollywood flicks, and most of the time it’s a bible—not a cell phone.* As for the gunman, he is still currently on the loose.
