evad3rs team says it did not take any money for iOS 7 untethered jailbreak

The iOS 7 untethered jailbreak was reportedly sponsored by a Chinese company, but evad3rs developers team denies that allegation.

The jailbreak was released out of the blue last Sunday and soon after it was discovered that those who had the language on their iOS devices set to Chinese were receiving the Taig store instead of what they expected, Cydia. Rumors began circulating that perhaps Taig had sponsored the jailbreak to the tune of $1 million. Taig store was also found to host pirated content, which goes against the every essence of jailbreaking that the evad3rs team stands for.*They have announced that the relationship with Taig has been terminated and that the store will not be automatically installed now even for those users who have language set to Chinese.

Moreover, there were concerns that Taig storefront might be siphoning off user data off the jailbroken iOS devices. The evad3rs team reverse engineered its code and found out that no data is being transmitted against the user’s knowledge. However they denounced Taig’s decision to upload a cracked version of the iOS 7 untethered jailbreak on its website with its store baked in, the evad3rs team didn’t give any permission or access to source code for this purpose.

The team also claims that they have “refused all monies” from Taig, categorically denying that they haven’t taken money from any group and that they won’t be accepting any money.*In the end, evad3rs say that they are working hard to fix any lingering issues with the much awaited iOS 7 untethered jailbreak.
