Nvidia’s next card may launch in February for around $200.
Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 750 Ti was benchmarked over the weekend at Chinese site PCOnline.
The mid-tier card scored P4188 points on 3DMark 11’s overall test, and 3170 points on 3DMark’s Fire Strike test. The scores are similar to what last-gen GTX 660 achieved.

The GPU-Z shot indicates that the video card has 960 CUDA cores, 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory on a 128-bit interface. The card benchmarked featured core clocks of 1098 MHz with a boost clock of 1176 MHz.
Rumors and speculation have long held that the GeForce GTX 750 Ti will be the first card to use Nvidia’s Maxwell architecture, but there is no evidence to substantiate this claim. Nvidia is said to roll out GeForce 8 series with Maxwell, so it is unclear as to why it would consider launching a GeForce GTX 750 Ti in February, and that too for around $200.
AMD’s offering in this segment, the R9 270X, is far better than what the GTX 750 Ti can achieve as far as benchmark scores are concerned. Launching a card that runs a new architecture in the same series also serves to confuse consumers, and it is for this reason that AMD re-branded its offerings last year into the R7 and R9 lines, even though there was only one card that featured a new architecture.
More details about the GTX 750 Ti should be available once the card is officially announced sometime next month. The alleged launch date is February 18th, which means that we at least do not have to wait long to find out about this card.
