Nippon Ichi Software has revealed some more info on their upcoming dungeon crawler God and the Fate*Awakening Cross Thesis, with character designs by the artist of Suzumiya Haruhi, Noizi Ito.
God and the Fate*Awakening Cross Thesis (KamiKuro for short) is the sequel to NIS’s PS3 dungeon crawler The Guided Fate Paradox.The story is centered around a new protagonist named Shin Kamikaze, who walks home from school one day when he is attacked by invaders from the sky, gets stabbed in the heart, and wakes up in the world of angels, where he discovers he has been infused with a “Destiny Awakening Crystal”, and he is now a god who must partake in a war between demons and angels.
Basically, it’s the kind of story fans usually expect from NIS, but this time, you will be forced to repeatedly make life-or-death decisions involving the two heroines, Jupiel and Arle.
Shin Kamikaze
The pessimistic, docile, and antisocial protagonist. His parents both died when he was a child, he was picked on in school, and he believes that humans survive by manipulating each other. Now, he’s a god.
Jupiel Soraumi (VA: Asami Imai)
Shin’s personal angel, and one of the most powerful angels in the angel world. She has a strict, diligent personality, and strives to be an excellent angel like her sister.
Arle Agarle (VA: Yumi Hara)
The researcher who turned Shin into a god. She is an arrogant, conceited demon who was taken prisoner, but by lending her research abilities, she has gained some some freedom within the angel world.
Mariel Soraumi (VA: Mikako Komatsu)
Shin’s personal angel and Jupiel’s older sister. She is young for an angel, but as the head archangel, she is one of the most powerful soldiers in the angel world, and she will do anything to lead the angels to victory.
In the war between angels and demons, the angels command a floating headquarters in the sky of the demon world named Aurora. Special properties make the base undetectable by demons, and most of the buildings on the surface are merely decorations while the real base is underground. From here, Shin will be deployed into battle, and when he returns he can rest in either Jupiel or Arle’s room — this is one of your first “life-or-death decisions”.
Contrary to her diligent character, Jupiel’s room is very fluffy and filled with stuffed animals, most of which are handmade.
Arle’s room also serves as her research area, where she has plenty of research tools at hand. There are lots of instant noodles, too.
Other than deciding which girl’s room to visit, you will have to make a lot of life-or-death decisions, as well as normal decisions, that will slowly tip an invisible scale. What your decisions will amount to, we have yet to know.
God and the Fate*Awakening Cross Thesis will be released for the PS3 on September 25.
